Saturday Spankings - "I intend to spank you."

Saturday Spankings!

Happy Weekend my spankily awesome readers! This week I have a snippet from my forthcoming book Lord Westbrook's Muse which is going to be released in just a couple of weeks. Exciting, isn't it?

Cass is a beautiful and unconventional woman with a mysterious past and a rebellious nature. She has found herself alone in a secluded house with Lord Robert Westbrook, a man she has only recently met. Some earlier behaviour - and a flippant remark - will soon have some painful consequences.

She heard Lord Westbrook approach behind her and realised that her wanderings had brought her to the bedroom. She had been standing by the footboard, staring at the bed in deep contemplation. It was perhaps, not the most subtle of places for Lord Westbrook to happen upon her.
He spoke. “Miss Glen, I have been thinking about your proposition.”
“My proposition?”
“Yes. You suggested earlier that I should punish you for your behaviour. I have decided that this is an excellent idea. We will not be disturbed here. Are you still willing?”
“How do you intend to punish me?” she asked warily.
Was that a flicker of a smile she saw cross his stern features?
“Oh, I think there is only one punishment suitable here.  I intend to spank you. Do I have your consent?”

The book is a sort-of sequel to my previous one, Lady Westbrook's Discovery. It's not necessary to read Lady Westbrook's Discovery before reading Lord Westbrook's Muse but I am going to suggest that you do anyway, because, you know, everyone should read my books.

  2. I'm with Adaline on this one. He tells her he intends to spank her and then asks for her consent! Wow!
As I drink a cup of hot chocolate from my Etta mug.

    1. Are these good 'Well's and 'Wow's or bad ones? I can't tell. Are we OK with the bossy Victorian gentleman demanding consent from the lady he just met before he spanks her bare bottom? I hope so.

And I'm pleased to hear you're using the mug, Holla. I hope it is adequately fulfilling it's purpose as a mug. Liquid stays on the inside, handle remains attached, doesn't summon a genie or carry an evil curse... that sort of thing.

  3. Oh, Lord. That picture, with that prose. . . Etta, you're a girl after my own heart.

    1. Thank you, Emily! That was the picture I sent to the cover people to give them an idea of what Cass should look like.

I ended up looking at a lot of pictures of pre-Raphaelite women for this book. Cass is an advocate of Victorian dress reform and wears 'aesthetic-style' dresses. She is described as looking like she has stepped out of a painting by the pre-Raphaelite brotherhood.

So in my googling of titian-haired pre-Raphaelite women, I kept coming across pictures that made me think "Hey! That looks like Emily!"

  6. I wonder if she had any idea what she was really getting into with her suggestion?
